So, I’ve began making the Gunstar Heroes low poly version. Much easier than the higher gen stuff. Just a short little practice before I get back to the heavier projects.
Wow, looks fantastic! Would love to see the metal work against the wood and the leaf reliefs to use some (minimal) tesselation/displacement maps for that next gen DX11 look, but, just wow really.
Also, on the subject of "next-gen", i don't think there are any other method worthy of mentioning (unless your pros are hiding something?). What's changed compared to previous generation would be shading and polycount.
I'm going off Ryze and Killzone Shadowfall, the 2 of the bigger and better looking next gen launch titles. Car games are a whole other thing, Forza might have million poly cars.

Very nice, Saya. I love those textures, really nicely done. I almost feel that it's a shame that it's not noticeable because of all of that fancy current-gen lighting and stuff. Great work nonetheless.
That gameplay video was awesome! I haven't played previous hitman games, but this really got my interest running. I hope there are lots of those outdoor scenes with lots of npc:s. That for me is next gen.
Oh interresting! With all this polygons, you add a normal map? because I'm not really sure to see it. So this one will be a low poly character (next gen) in 2 years maybe less now!
