on object creation, go under surfaces and create nurbs surfaces, or nurbs curve and connect them alt + c -> mesh from curve this way you can also apply all modifiers on multiple meshes
I'm on 2.75a. I haven't tried adding other high-poly objects to the same scene yet. There will be more eventually, but I'll also be baking them down to much smaller models once the sculpting's done.
@Panupat you can try the Particle Instance modifier with Create Along Paths option. You add this modifier on hair card(s) and set the target object as the mesh with the hair particle systems. It's really powerful. The only downside of this method is that you need to step out to object mode to see how the cards look after…
@Blaizer Have a look at the Emulate 3 Button Mouse option, maybe it helps. This thing that @f1r3w4rr10r suggested with opening a command prompt and starting Blender from that, on Windows, is the only way to catch the error message when you're dealing with fatal crashes from your scripts (when Blender closes to desktop with…
Hey fellas, here's an idea / request for boolean visibility. I use a simple toggle wires script to toggle the wireframe of the objects in my viewport on/off. However, I'd like to take this a step further: to any cutters visible in the scene (regular geo with its display type set to WIRE), make them vanish on/off too. I…
here's a question regarding object creation - when i create a new primitive, blender highlights the new object in face edit mode and gives me access to a set of parameters, e.g. number of subdivisions. if i deselect and reselect the object, i do not have these options available anymore, any trick to make these available…
oh there is a very easy solution to this, you can just put your parts into a collection, then instance this collection into a geometry nodes graph (maybe needs realize instances) and then you can add this graph to a placeholder object, add the remesh modifier after the geometry nodes modifier and voila.
well, blender is only really fast if you know the hotkeys, i agree that some stuff is not that well arranged, but once you get used to the hotkeys it certainly is faster and easier to model with than maya honestly, i really never used the mesh menu on the bottom because you can access everything with simple shortcuts w -…
@Tiles That will only work if the objects have their material slots set up in the same way. If you want to switch out the material in different slots linking will not work. You would just replace the material slot setup.
@f1r3w4rr10r What i want is basically the behavior of a collection instance, that updates both the base object and the instance at the same time. But work with them in 2 different monitors. Linked is fine in some cases, but not for what i want.
