I don't know why you seem to be leaning towards Sandy Bridge E processors (socket 2011). While the processor is about the same cost as a 3770k, the performance is slightly lower, and you are paying an arm and a leg for a socket 2011 motherboard. I have to believe that a fresh install will lead to a better experience cuz I have never experienced a crash laden experience like this upgrade since I switched to PC with win nt 4.0.
