Well it's clear you can use modeling tools, now you need to focus on texturing. Model something like a car or gun and texture it. Of those models you posted, the easiest one to texture it seems is Shredder, so if you want texture one of your characters I would do that one. Texturing is a pretty involved process and picking…
the clip release button is right where you have the space for it in the grip, dont know why you didnt add it if you modeled the space for it o_O as for the "cart ejection claw" its on the other side and not something you really need to model in as its inset in the model and can just be textured on. You should also add the…

So I know that you should have hard edges across your UV seams on hard surface models for proper normal map baking but I just realised I don't know how this applies to character/organic models. I can't see why you wouldn't but I don't recall ever seeing a character model with hard edges in it.

Are there some "famous" or really good tutorials out there? I'm interested in both free and paid tutorials. Basically everything would be good, props, weapons, vehicles, plants and trees (I have no idea how to make them) even environments but since environments are "just" props put together I would save those kind of…
Thanks to the half-assed university program I got myself sucked into, I've been learning 3d modeling in a very haphazard fashion - a combination of self-teaching, experimentation, tutorials and the added bonus of having relatively unskilled instructors there to confuse me along the way. Needless to say, I have a few…
There are many ways to do this, yeah. My workflow is that, if I'm sub-d modeling a hard surface model, I'll usually create the high poly first with a good topology, then copy it and optimize it down to a low poly by deleting subdivisions and control loops and other polygons which don't affect to the silhouette. Sometimes…

I'm not sure if I'm doing something stupid but I'm quite new to 3ds max and have been working at scale on some game models. I have my units set to 1m as required by the engine import at the moment. Whenever I get close to a model it gets clipped drastically so working on fine details is very difficult. My only workaround…
