Hello! Iam using FBX format. Also i checked painting in multinormals mode - the same problem. Well, i tried OBJ and it works, but i dont know whats wrong with FBX. Anyways, thanks a lot for the hint.
Never used it but if it won't work for you, you can assign the shortcut to a custom macroscript instead, something like: macroScript CenterSelPivot category:"Extras" tooltip:"Center Pivot"( on execute do for obj in selection do obj.pivot = obj.center)
Here's the OBJ: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2355669/bodypanel.obj This has the body & panels. You can see when you explode, the low poly barely moves, then the hp panels move with the body, instead of going off on their own.
No problem so far on my side. I read somewhere on their website that if you upload an .obj that comes with a .mtl, their viewer will show the textures. I have to try this out. I wish you could change the camera focal.
SO, anyone knows how to use that thing ? There's quite a bit of material out there but maybe someone here knows the good stuff :) Basically : how to import an obj with proper displacement, basic rig creation and weighting, and simple keyframing ?
Turbosmooth is only an export setting in Max. ZB is in point count. This will double in Max so it should only be about 1.9m in Max. Not sure what you're doing wrong but it is a very straightforward process. Have you tried with .obj?
For my OBJ imports, UE4 would automatically map my assets. This ended in some less then pleasant results when I baked lights. However, FBXs will carry over your lightmaps. Are you stacking UVs someplace?
I'm sorry. I wrote that when I was exhausted. What I meant was how do I switch between multiple meshes inside one OBJ? The glass is separate from the flashlight body. Thanks so much!
Thanks for the reply,Jaco. I tried to fix the problems you said, and started the body. When i tried to include the hair in the OBJ, Marmoset crashed =/. I'm not sure what kind of clothing i'll add,so suggestions are welcome :) .
Not sure of Chinese print services, but I can print stl's and obj's zbrush. I'm in Australia though, and I only have a top down DLP printer at present. Happy to take a look and give an idea of price if you want though.
