Hey @Jerc the obj download has some pretty broken face groups as viewed in Maya. e: seems to bake in SP just fine, I just went about my usual mesh-checking habits before doing it.
Hey, what happens when you toss this into Marmoset? It's a lot less finicky than Xnormal's viewer, and it's super easy to set up (export as obj, make sure your normal map's green channel is oriented correctly, go!)
It looks like some sort of flipped normals issue. Try resetting xforms on it. Or exporting it as an obj and bring it back in. Also could be the version of max you are using. I know Xoliul shader doesn't work for later versions of max.
what I would suggest doing, is exporting an obj of the pattern for the roots out of UDK, and importing that and your bricks into your sculpting program, and sculpt in the damage based on where the roots are, otherwise, it will look pretty flat and not as good as it could look.
Sorry I forgot to mention that I tried resetting them that way but they were stuck. The way I fixed it was export/reimport using .obj and I didn't export the normals. So itd recalcute them i'd hope. And it worked!
Doesn't sound right - you should be getting a prompt for export options. I remember downloading it directly from their site. As other suggested, have you exported an FBX or OBJ and then re-imported it into a fresh max scene then tried the export?
Standard troubleshooting steps I'd go through is first check the easy things: toggling nanite on and off. if this solves problem, you know its nanite related. can also export the models and reimport as obj and see if that makes any difference. if it does, this would indicate something borked with import of the models.…
I'm just curious, does marmoset have a file size limit? I have a really high poly model I'd love to just toss on in there and see what it can do, but it keeps crashing. The OBJ is about 70mb large.
Hello i was working in zbrush , and after unwrapping with the uvmaster this subtool i found that the poly paint was messed up . do i have to re paint it ? i tried 3ds max for unwrapping but failed :( . you will find attached the .obj file with the material . please help , thanks .
Hey, please tell me what's wrong with my baked normal map. The problem is displayed on the 4th image, around a hard edge ring. Image of the mesh and (Substance Painter) baking settings: If it helps, here are the meshes (.obj format): https://mega.nz/#!DdxzhYyZ!yiK25uG7z_yqr8xJw_6Usw4QpIq8ilNyqqsk4gjFBbU Thanks.
