Thanks for your input. How is it that the older cards work fine but the newer 600 series cards have issues? Is Nvidia just gimping the 600 series so professionals will buy the more expensive Quadro cards. Is there no hack to fix these cons?
Off topic: How do you like the 600? Does it drink alot of fuel compared to other bikes in you're opinion? I am still a bit on the fence if I want this 250r, or a 600. *This will be my first bike btw*
I also tried opening old 6.01 scene files that baked successfully in XSI 6.01. However after opening in 6.5 and trying to rebake, the black texture seems to occur. I must be missing something in 6.5. Its weird.
LOL your the best earthquake I def have a lot of folders on my desktop (temporarily) and toolbag names them turntable000, 001 etc for some reason 000 was something else and the 3 renders I needed where 001 002 and 003 oops. I found them now. Sorry about that thanks for convincing me I still was doing something wrong.

Well, it's a ton more stable than 301, especially when dealing with massive UV sets and loads of images (which was arguably 301's worst downfall). But I haven't really noticed an improvement in the normal map display, as such. The sculpting vector displacement shader's a lot faster and more efficient, which might be what…
Honestly unless you're regularly working with 50million+ poly models, and baking/texturing 8192x8192 textures 32GB is probably overkill for any reasonable use. But again, ram is cheap. As far as the 3930K, well its about 2x the cost of the I7, with maybe 1.4x the performance? Generally I wouldn't advise anyone to buy a…
I would argue and say that for those people who go 60k in debt at AI studying game art and never get a job in industry (which is probably more common than people who actually get jobs in the industry making art) that it is both in fact a complete waste of time and money. Is a worthless piece of paper that states that you…
An 800 watt PSU is overkill for any single GPU system. The only reason you would want 800 watts is if you are running two or three GPUs. It's a waste of money. For most single GPU systems, 500-600 watts is perfect. You'll never need more than 600. The i7 920 is not worth it when you can have an i7 2600K, which will wipe…
Yes you have to do it and no it never gets fun, its rewarding when its done but it never is fun. I dont know anything about max8's uv tools, but modo 201s look s AWESOMETASTIC. Check out the uv video on this page:http://www.luxology.com/modo/201/media.aspx
