Thats very strange. Which engine version? I tried this out in 4.15 and I get full lighting with the default settings of the planar reflections. -

According to specs and blueprints. Engines are 4.5 meters, cockpit 2.7ish meters Looks somewhat right to me. It´s a fairly small pod, compared to the rest.
