Yes, it looks like a pig! I'm pretty sure you and I have used the same reference photos, since this looks very much like a pig I made for no reason a while back.
I would suggest maybe adding a few polys to the face, just to get the eyes and mouth suggested in there, pigs usually have a big silly lower lip sticking out under their snout, I think.
Hey, cool pig. Definitly looks like a cool pig. I'd say you could lower its polycount and achieve the same shape. Especially since it doesn't look like main-character material and more like a supporting model. *shrug* I agree with MoP about adding more polys to the face, so I suppose that if you lose some polys on the body and add them to the face it'd weigh in around the same poly weight.
tried to take everything into account... added some more detail to his face and gave him a jaw, added some polys around his legs to help with animation. better or worse?
figured i'd try and do some stuff for the arcrise project... nobody seems to want to do the animals, its good practice, and i just might make a buck. so i'm trying to keep it as low poly as possible (within reason - no pink blocks ) right now she's at 515. damn tail.
It really looks like a pig, but I think you could still work on the texture a bit. I think it would look better if you added some dirt and some more details in the skin. The skin looks a bit to peachy to me (it's a pig, not a princess ) It wouldn't hurt to increase the contrast a bit aswell.
If you have a little patience I can do a paintover for you to point some things out. I'm not too good in explaining myself in English. So I hope you can wait till tomorrow. It's a bit late in the Netherlands right now and I have to get up very early in the morning.
For the peachyness, you could adjust the Hue/Saturation in Photoshop and bring it down to about H:-5, S:-12, L:-10. That would make it a little more pink. Might be closer to what you're looking for.
i'm about ready to call this done. pinked/lightened him up a bit, reversed splotches so they're lighter (as i was told occurs on pink pigs) gave her some hooves, and gotten rid of the "leg-warmer" shading on her legs. hopefully.

here's where i am on the texture so far. i need all the advice i can get, as i don't think my texturing skills are all that hot.
the eye is by no means finished. just stuck there to see where they'll be.
i'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
better shots at 100% self-illumination tomorrow.
here are the promised shots at 100% self-illumination:
about the peachyness... any tips on how to bring it back to a more pinker tone... my attempts in ps muddies it all a monochromatic mess.
If you want you can refrence off my demons hoves.

thanks for all the input.
You know they say the length and shape you draw on you piggy is the size of your own wand. Weird.
