Hey man, that's nice of you to offer the insights. However, take a look at the OP date. Your reply is coming along a year later. Maybe helpful for other new modelers coming across this topic, but likely the OP has moved on. Not to discourage you from posting, just to help you be aware of your intended audience.
Does this mean AMD users will stop be treated as second rate citizens as well? :P I'm curious as to why they are not going after license fee's, other companies did that, is AMD trying to push itself competitively (kinda like UDK was to UE4) as a precedence so later down the line, they have a userbase to extent into a…
I'll be adding a more reptilian vibe to the rest of the skin later. I'd like to combine attributes of a few different animals, having softer skin in some spots while a tougher more callous skin in others. Particularly near where the crystals are growing. Started tinkering with some skin plating in the lat area. Sort of…
So i posted the WIP highpoly of this a while back, here are the textures! I wanted to do a new asset from scratch using the metalness map workflow. I will likely do a more thorough writeup on the process at a later date. Diving helmet content for anyone who wants to have a look: Diving helmet zip

I'm more or less happy with how it turned out with an exception to the tank itself being a bit boring. Here's the low poly version: And high poly…
Thanks for the input HAWK! Those tips and tutorials will surely help as I move along. As much as I would like to get a realistic render with vray I am going for game asset just for my portfolio's sake mabey I can get back to it at a later date. I will keep you posted on my progress.
Yeah I understand where you're coming from, the research stuff is just what I need to ad in to my assignment at a later date so I thought I would add it here. I will be putting concepts and such up next week so hopefully I will be posting things people can help and critique on.
