Hey guys, Please ruthlessly critique my Unreal 4 environment, titled Intruder. My goals were to 1) work in modern/sci-fi (i normally work in Fantasy) 2) learn Unreal 4 3) create an interior using a small modular set of pieces Go nuts, don't hold back. Thanks in advance!
Here are some guidelines to follow, and topics to study. 1. NGon Ngons are faces with 5 or more edges. For now, you can consider them bad. Keeping your mesh as close to all 4-sided faces as possible is ideal! Also, if import a mesh with NGons into a game engine, the engine will automatically triangulate your mesh however…
Currently I have a rotating schedule of 4 projects going on. I have a full time job, so on weekdays I can onely manage around 3-5 hours of art related work on week days. However I work all day and often pull long nights and sleep less on weekends. In a week on average I do around 40-50 hours a week, depending on days off…
just to repeat what I messaged to juanitudev1 But before that, one reason one might go with GIF clips: * easy to share on messageBoards, emails, wikis or other html based editors. * can loop so its perfect for showing 2-4 sec. clips showing results or step instructions But where I think it doesn't suit its purpose: * show…
Short Answer: He hates zombie movies and is a prick about anyone who uses the internet. He's become a bitter, spiteful old man who feels replaced, largely because he has been. Long Answer: (feel free to skip this its just expanding on the above) I stopped paying attention to the guy in the mid-late 90's as a trusted source…
money is always the hardest part about working in another country. If someone does decide to hire you, be prepared to drain every financial resource you have. Companies have never paid for my flights or anything else for that matter. Best not to rely on anyone for support but your hard stowed cash. Which will dissapear the…
I think the idea is it's used for baking or concepting. Good thing about retopo of item like this is that it's symmetrical 4 ways, so you only need to build 1/4 of it, then you can duplicate and rotate. I heard the new zremesher makes good work of hard surface retopo, though i haven't tried myself.
I think 3 & 4 are both visually interesting and flow really well with the silhouette. 3 has the "smoothest" and most appealing curves for me, and 4 is really unique due to the really under exaggerated silhouette. It's almost an understatement that might complement the character nicely. I'd be interested to see how it will…
Here are some rough compositions I'm playing with. I think I'm leaning towards 4 or 6. Both scenes show Jinx in the middle of pillaging another viking town. 4 features Jinx vaulting over an angry group, and 6 is of Jinx leaping towards the viewer with her man-viking she's about to rape and pillage.
Just baked it in Xnormal with a cage and no difference. I'm at a loss as to why it is doing this. On the other hand I set Edge Padding to 4. Which made a significant difference although not perfect, next I will bake it in an exploded form which should solve most of the problems but the edges will probably still be weird…
