Kitbash Models = crazy edges!

Hey all,
I found some free kitbash kits (thanks to all free kitbashers!) that had some models I'd like to use. On import (regardless of format) it's crazy with the edges!! Must be the program they use? Maybe it's from a CAD program? Is there a way to clean these up - I'd love to use some but besides being a nightmare to UV there are quite heavy.  Thanks!

    I think the idea is it's used for baking or concepting.

    Good thing about retopo of item like this is that it's symmetrical 4 ways, so you only need to build 1/4 of it, then you can duplicate and rotate. I heard the new zremesher makes good work of hard surface retopo, though i haven't tried myself.

    Thanks for the info, Alex. I'll try running it through Zremesher and see how that goes.
