Hello ! I'm working on a mermaid design that I thought of these days. I intend to color it when I have the time. But in the min time, all sort of constructive critiques are more than welcomed.
@oxygencube - Thank you so much! Here is my first pass on the gauntlet FINALLY! I took way longer then intended on this piece. Did a sculpt, bake and diffuse. Concept by the Darksiders team.
The metal part looks good ,but If you intended to have a cristal at the top , it doesnt look quite as how it should look There is no light passing thro imo ; they look stone/boulder like cheers
Baked it down on 7 separate maps for modularity's sake, as it's intended for Fallout 4 (when it's moddable, anyway). Was a pain in the ass but should be worth it so that I can swap bits out with ease.
great as usual obscura. Do you have any intend to show us anything about Advance material (one texture sheet for an entire envo.. ala tor frick?) Best regards!
Concept art =/= promotional art. Concept art, intended for asset creation, is not art that "sells" a product because that isn't what it's for. Promotional art is. It is absolutely important that people know the difference between the two.
Looking lovely so far! The whole boat/river path setup should provide an interesting dynamic to set itself apart from the current flood of survival games. (pun intended :D )
I'm going to take a wild guess here, are you using nDo 2? There's an option/slider for anti aliasing, try that. Or work at 2x the intended res and down scale it when you're done.
No problem, mate! No, it's is entirely tangentless as in it doesn't use any per vertex tangents. Everything is done at a pixel shader level. Granted it intended for reasonably high fidelity geometry but it is tangentless all the same. :)
I like the palette a lot. The cloning is a bit too obvious. What's the intended usage for this matter painting, because it seems to lack an action plane, or a focal point, or a compositional element to lead the eye.
