Hello, I don't having the solution but exporting from 3ds max to .smd always failed for me. That is why I'm exporting in .fbx type file. exporting in .smd make my Dota 2 crash but not with .fbx -
tileable zbrush textures
I want to create a brick wall in zbrush, make it tileable, and then export a normal from it. I know how to create it and export it, but not make it seamless before exporting the normal map. Can anyone tell how I could do that? Should I tile the normal map in Photoshop instead? Thank you for the help! -
.obj loader for maya that imports smoothing groups
so...i need to import something to maya to export into another format , but maya wont read the smoothing groups of the .obj im exporting from max ( yes i check the export smoothing groups box ) so anyone know a way ( besides manually detaching each face :P ) ? -

Maybe you could post a screenshot of both softwares using unlit mode, in Substance you can do this by only showing your basecolor in the 3D viewer, in UE4 you can switch to it in the top left corner. This way you could check if it totally depends on the light sources or an error occurring in the export and/or importing to… -

I use it. The Grease Pencil is cool but doesn't add much to game character modeling with the exception of helping to story board animation. The realtime shaders are cool but most major apps max, maya, xsi have all had this for a while. I do like the fact that that you can texture paint on top of the normal map in the view… -

1. export as .obj from Zbrush 2. import to blender(or whatever software you use) 3. smooth normals 4. export as .obj with an option to write normals in export. 5. import to Quixel, should work by now. -

Yep, seems the problem is bad or corrupt exported data. Try to use the new guruware's OBJ exporter or use other format like SBM or ASE. The old max2obj exporter that came with old max versions is a pure mess. -

I also started a completely new scene in Max, merged the eyelash hair object into it and exported it... and it somehow imports the eyebrow hair into UE5. How does this make ANY sense? It's exporting data that isn't even in the scene that it's being exported from... My mind is just frazzled. -
Empty 32bit displacements from ZBrush
When exporting a 32 bit displacement map from ZBrush it sometimes is all red; or all white. Compared to when I export a 16bit TIF which exports with the correct data. As I'm not getting all the information from the 16 bit TIF displacement map as a 32 bit displacement will provide.
