it seems to be using bump maps ( the ones in 3ds max black n white ) instead of normal maps. The specular seems also vey flat , and the weapon seems to be painted in grey scale , i know its a weapon , but everything has more colour:) keep at it
I'm currently working through a improvised weapon tutorial/process video so i guess this counts as a wip?! There's a fair few hours of it that i've uploaded to youtube already for anyone to watch if anyone is interested?! based on this real world improvised weapon
Hi! I want start this competition and I will try to finish it...Im working on the design of the character...I will post as soon as possible the drawing. In few words: should be a gutter Punk riding her dog with a weapon, I m trying to create funny "weapon" using objects that you can find in the street (like broken bottles…
One of my concepts for the Weapon Finish Contest. A space suit with a bullet hole causing cracks across the visor, and either a dark void or a skull within. I'm thinking the m4 would go well, a darkish theme, but the awp could look good. Else I might go outside the competition entirely, and use another weapon.
Ha that's awesome! Hmmm I think I will try again with the hard suits! Ooooh so you can unlock weapons permanently? That's awesome how much is a weapon to unlock? Does anyone know when they are going to enable parties btw?
Maybe something along the lines of "Too Human" Recreating futuristic cybernetic gods and godesses with weapons, gadgets/pets and powerarmor, only it wouldn´t be limited to norse mythology. 1000-1500 tris, one 512² map for character and weapon/pet.
I would do a). Edit: To add a bit more, I have actually already done it for the players weapons. Basicly had one capture actor attached just inforont of the character and used the cubemap in the weapon materials. Works rather well.
A friend of mine brought up a few issues with the PA weapon so I'm gonna head in a different direction with it. Did a few quick edits in hopes it looks more like a typical PA weapon instead of something more fitting of Spectre.
I think Crytek was recommending to Obsidian Edge 5000ish tris for first person weapons, 1500ish for third person ones. Doesn't seem like much to me for a modern shooter, especially since the weapons always seemed like the main characters.
Yeah, you've got some nice high polys, but you need some low poly textured stuff too. Also get some variety in there. Even if you want to be a weapon artist there's plenty of other unique and original weapon designs.
