Heya Would love some more crit on a wip bust (i posted this a while ago), and instead of bumping the old thread i thought i'd share how i try to polypaint realistic (i hope) skin textures from scratch. Realistic skin is a bit of a mindfuck, and i want to share a bit of my research - just dont hate me too much, my anatomy…
Let's try to solve this. - its just that in your way you are working mainly with the duplicate instead of the original. In mine I am setting my hard edges and all that on the original....There isn't any benefit over using the linked duplicate versus the linked original because as you have said editing one or the other…
You'll have to stitch them together unfortunately. I asked once on UDK forums and got a reply from Epic dev that for screenshots with large shader network on UDN they used the same thing. Would be nice to have that feature in though.
I noticed when playing GW2 that when looking at one of the legendary greatswords (ex: [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbWI7WQD_TA"]Sunrise[/ame]) that a photo image within moves around when you move the character. Would anyone have an idea as to how they were able to do this?
Ok, not quite what we meant. Here's a quick example, there's a basic dome with a texture and then on top of that are planes with an alpha'd texture to break up the pattern. Obviously, for this I just extruded the loops along the sphere and the result is predictably generic. You'll want to use custom planes and overlap them…
This is looking great so far. I love the color palette. I think it's worth pushing it a bit more to get it to a really good place for your portfolio. 1. The gray-purple stucco on the walls should have some weathering near the wood beams. Without this it's looking very flat. An example from here on our wiki: 2. There is a…
Not back to start the dialogue up, life got in the way, and I just got done making some adjustments to the site, etc.. and items were tweaked related to feedback from this forum. Just wanted to thank everyone for their input, it helped us look at from a different angle. It doesn't matter whether your input made me feel…
Thanks for the followons guys. :) all good info. Yes this can and should be simplified for realtime use. As built this would not compile on SM2, and is expensive. It is built "by the book" for illustrative purposes mainly. One could use texture lookups for the alpha and beta values, indeed my reference material did just…
