the 0-1 space is relative to your texture. atm you are using 2 UVspaces. 0-1 and 1-2 if yyour UVs are squashed by 50% like poopipe described, just make your texture 200% wide and a pixel is square again.
Refining my workflow and trying out some new things. Mostly blockout stuff so far except for the blade, which I consider maybe 50% done. Tricount is something like 700 iirc and it's 1024x1024 (wasteful, but it's for texture practice only so) Be harsh! :P
The current version of Substance cant show multiple UDIMs. It does create a shader per UDIM. The full UDIM support version is in beta. For this asset you wont need UDIMs accept its 50 Meter big. Go with multiple Shaders. Its easier.
I'm at 50% full on preorders. Though besides that I'd love to get into discussions with people to help them also turn their 3d and 2d art into figures. Surely other people out there would like to see their creations break out of their PC and into real life :)
A baseball cap is actually of more use in the desert, or a brimmed hat, like the ones the marine corps guys are usually seen wearing: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v264/120/50/787684348/n787684348_501642_3370.jpg Some more pouches, and of course weapons!
That power supply is crazy overkill. You can save $50 and get a better PSU with http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-power-supply-ax760 or just get the best deal you can find on a 700+ watt gold rated PSU with good reviews.
the reference looks very symmetrical and if you go 100% for that you could just as well mirror the UV sides and save almost 50%-60% of the texture space that you are using now, which means less painting work and a more crispy texel resolution.
In the past, I've learned whatever job specific modelling software I've needed to before I started the job. Usually 50-100 hours (3-4 weeks between or before starting a job) should get you pretty familiar with a modelling package.
i managed to get some good deals as well. Assassins Creed Revelations $35 Metal Gear Solid HD Collection $35 New chair from staples (originally $170) payed $50. 27" HP Monitor (originally $400) payed $300
50 mil polys, 5 gig files 24 gigs of RAM! Sweet gebus that's livin LARGE! I so don't miss working with those montrous file sizes in Mudbox though. My Zbrush files are usually only a couple hundred mbs.
