I use max, I stay away from CAT and stick to biped and rigs that I've created myself. I've hit too many bugs with CAT and had to do some very crazy work arounds to get CAT rigs working. Yea even if you're not on a budget they've really stepped up their game in the last few releases of Bamboo's. I recommend it especially since you're on a budget and probably a first time user.
