I just completed a little level chip set for a small game I'm working on ... thought I'd post it here :) . The original tile set is on a 8x8 pixel grid... so it's pretty damn small. Will post some characters soon.
Relative snapping when they are in-line sound very nice. But if snapping them to a grid is faster / less of a hazzle for you to program that would do the trick too :D Thanks man! I'm looking forward to it. Any ideas on the price already?
I'm thinking more of the GTA series, with the urban environments. Some sections are basically a grid, but others are really windy and hilly. I guess the best bet would be to just make a thread for my WIP scene and get some advice.
hay Stephen, did you use quick silver hardware render ? or just preview if hardware render the how grid is in ? and if preview then i tried making previews but i didn't get the quality can you help me out?
Focus on keeping things in quads and grid-like. Use a smoothing modifier/whatever maya calls them on top s oyou can see what it looks like. The current mesh you have isn't good for subdivision at all.
I just realized that I forgot to snap to the grid... so I started over again. When I tried to make this top point the two polygons made this weird gradient. Anyone know what I did wrong?
@CheeseOnToast: Yeah I totally know what you mean. With my method you end up with a grid of useless lines that you have to then go in and erase. Like I said my workflow has a need for some improvements :)
So I'm trying to bake a high poly mesh on a low poly mesh. It looks like the low poly wire frame is showing through the bake. You can see in the photo the grid showing through all the maps. I would smooth my low poly mesh before bringing it into substance but i cant afford to up the polycount on this. How could I fix this?…
hammer: thanks for the feedback, i looked at what you were saying about the pistol grip and i re worked it. there is a pinch in the middle of the real grip that i kept tho. im not sure what part of the reciever you think is thick tho... Lonewolf: thanks alot for puttin some feedback on my stuff, really appreciate it! Your…
I recently upgraded to 3ds Max 2016 and the past few days if I maximize a viewport, it turns white and there is nothing to view. When I revert back to four screens, I can see what I was working on. The grid, models, etc. Possible glitch?
