I think you should recreate some real life vehicles buildings facades and props for the building scene, and texture it with one diffuse map. For the building though I suggest you do what's suggested in the polycount challenge though. Employers need to know you can do this perfectly and the only way to prove you can is buy…
Project RBU > ReBot Unit (working title) Returning to a personal game prototype I'm developing and decided to give it a proper visual guide piece. Critique welcome and highly appreciated!
Is everything snapped to your grid? It would help to align your pieces to the perspective grid in your viewport shots. Are models precisely scaled so their ends hit the grid lines? Some excellent tips here from the late, great Kevin Johnstone: http://wiki.polycount.com/w/images/2/2d/Modular_Environment_Design.pdf…
You should try to find more reference of this location, so you can see it from different angles, closeups, without the motion blur, etc. One image isn't going to give you enough information, especially when you're just starting out. A lot of reference is key! Landscape in games typically mixes two main techniques...…
The seams you get when having "no lightmaps" aren't actually due to a bug. Without lightmap it will fall back on vertex lighting, but due to Unreals special approach to subdivided vertex lighting, seams appear between modular meshes (which because, great joy, epic by default has hidden the property that is meant to fix…
If u have a lot of guides on your canvas how do u clear all of them at once? Isn't there something like that? The doc says u have to drag each guide out of the canvas: https://docs.krita.org/en/reference_manual/dockers/grids_and_guides.html That's too much work if u have like a lot of them on your canvas.
(don't know why I originally posted in low poly thread) Just finished up an Unreal Game Jam. 4 days, 5 guys... Didn't get everything in game we wanted to but we are planning on finalizing it. A Grim Situation [url]sorry someone removed link... (this isn't finished but everything works) two player co-op. need a controller,…
Hey there, I'm using 3D-Coat to do projection painting (with "Project Through" enabled) right now, and I'm having an issue that seems to be caused by some overlapping (islands?) on the M4A1S's UV sheet. What I'd like the front grip to look like here (view from PhotoShop): What happens when I save in PS and my work is…
This might be interesting.. somehow using octane with blender and also providing some "best guide" .. https://blenderartists.org/t/zenit-ttl-camera-blender-octane/1644112/3?u=okidoki
Hi all, I have a few questions around building and using modular kits for environment layout. 1. How critical is it for a modular environment to be fully closed off? Meaning, all assets snapping cleanly to the grid with no protruding geometry outside of the layout of the scene? In cinematic work, I’ve often prioritized…
