Really fun idea lotet! Besides Eric's point another thing you could try would be to tilt the camera to give an edgy feel given the scenario. Just a thought mind :p and I wouldn't call yourself a shitty artist. You're doing nice work :)
I have come to a point now where I am ready to call this scene finished! its been great fun working on it and really enjoyed working on cryengine. Anyway I hope you all like it :) Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vLG-eZunAXI
Started makeing some Hearthstone Cardbacks for fun. Going for Naxxramas and Undercity vibes. 3 of these are based on UBRS, top left is just kind of a doodle. After doing this in Photoshop I realized I could use the radial symmetry in Zbrush to quickly block out symmetrical designs.
Yeah, don't worry about being great, just mess about and have fun. Tutorials are great for the basics, sometimes though they won't cover what you want to accomplish, thats why experimenting is always the best way forward, and coming up with your own conclusions.
Hey S-S - Mirror is based on position, not topology - UVs can be outside 0-1 space (although it's possible there would be some fun bugs for me to find as you paint across the border?) If you'd like to test, shoot me an email at travisbaldree@gmail.com! Travis
@Deathstick yeah i think fit all the props is gonna be a nice challenge. But i 'm sure it's gonna be fun to play with lot of different materials Plus i want it to be in the late 70's to give a nice touch to it And thank you for the ref those are pretty interesting !
hehe, explosive kiwi's :P cool stuff man. Just played the rocketbirds demo and that was fun. No idea on the technical side of stuff but a little more contrast or somthing to make the chars stand out a little more might be cool... hope you post updates soon man
These are pretty sweet looking! The game sounds fun. Characters look great. Im curious of what the texture is going to look like on the AI model. I like the main character, i agree with the red beard, I think it will give more characteristics to the character. Awesome job.
Shaddy Safadi's brushes are fun to use. http://www.shaddyconceptart.com/download Other than those I use the default brushes, lots of lasso, masking and airbrushing. I have a few special texture brushes I can't remember where I got, but they make a big difference.
