Hi, I have been working on an environment in cryengine for a couple of months now and hoping to get some feedback or critique.

I think it looks absolutely great!
Only thing that stands out to me is some objects like the barrel, door or any of the stone have really nice sharp details but the chair, table and candelabra are rather basic with a high reflective or specular value. They have no signs of wear and a really saturated so they look brand new, where as most other things look aged. A small detail but it looks great imo

would be nice if some the low parts on the walls or floor had some other details like dirt and so an!

Thanks carl, yea I agree with you some of the stuff looks a little clean. my process tends to revolve around getting a clean pass done first and then going in and adding all the dirt and wear etc. this will be done in the textures of the unique assets and for the more repetative stuff (crates and barrels) i will use vertex paint and decals as well as details in the texture

Jester, for now just looking for feedback but will happily post some breakdowns at a later date.

i think this look great!
the only thing that really jumps out right now is the carpet, i under stand it is super thin in real life...but it just doesnt feel right

is it a plane?

Cglewis - yea think I may have to extrude it out a bit to give it some thickness and get the size right. it used to be a plane but a rolled the edges to give it thickness but seems to be more of a lighting issue. might alter the texture to improve how it reads.

Looks mighty. A plant or anything inside would make it more lived-in. Right now it feels a bit abandoned. And if it is, some cobwebs and a bit more trash would look lovely.

Really nice looking set. The colours are great a nice balance of saturation and contrast. I like it all, one thing i would like to see is some fruit of meat of some kind this would make the scene tasty!

I like this but I feel like that cloth draped over stuff is really subtle, it has very little contrast and when the pictures aren't fully maximized it looks untextured.
Might just be a preference thing but maybe consider making them a little dirtier or adding more occlusion in the folds or just increasing the texture of the fabric to make it less white.

Been a while since I updated you all with my Black Flag Inspired scene so here are a couple of screen shots to showcase whats I've been doing. main changes are to do with lighting and adjusting props and textures as well as other polish work.

I have come to a point now where I am ready to call this scene finished! its been great fun working on it and really enjoyed working on cryengine. Anyway I hope you all like it
