I mean the only way to get the silhouette to match perfectly is for it to have as many radial segments, which isn't practically. Maybe I could really up the poly though. Is there one of those spreadsheets for polygon limits for 2018 or 2017? For all I know I'm being way to conservative with my geometry in general here.

Hey Polycounters! I made this prop back in 2017 for a third-person action game. And I lost the source files when my working disk died. Some time ago, I managed to recover the files. And I wanted to share my work. Cheers! If you're interested, check the pages with this asset: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/D5B9DO…
Slick, reflective and smooth AF black. Brushed silver metal, And teal car metal. I've never really USED this program (Substance Designer) before, but would these materials be considered relatively easy to make? And if so how would I go about creating them? Second question is how well I'd be able to transfer the material…
Hi all! One of my favorite 3A Ashley Wood figures – the WWRp Pinky Bertie MK3.5 (damaged and undamaged) – has the coolest revolver (double!). As I’m still working on my modeling/texturing skills it was no-brainer to give the gun a go! Modeled in 3D Max 2017, textured in Substance Painter 2 and rendered in Iray (within…
Hi! I've been practising with Silo's displacement painting lately and here's a creature I modeled. I'm currently trying to generate a normal map, I'll post screenshots if I can generate a proper one. The low poly mesh has 4019 tri's. The high poly: The low poly: Wireframe: UV layout(resized from 1024x1024): Critique and…
Has anyone been using the "updated" xRef in 2016-2017 in actual production? Specifically referencing rigs into other files. My my studio has been on 2012 and xRef is basically useable. Changes to the rigs just breaks it. We've been considering switching to Maya for animation only primarily for better referencing but I…
Hi everyone! I'd like to share with the community some of the personal materials I make with Substance Designer. Starting this on September 2017. Let's start with a cliff. It's a rocky surface blended with a dirt one using a custom mask. The first is an IRay render. The second one a Marmoset render. If you have any comment…
@larryrttrivette @Brian "Panda" Choi Hello, Larry. Hello, Brian. I was playing with Substance Painting 2017, and this is my final result so far. :-) I would like to try something funny, something unique. What do you think? Do you believe this is fine to use for portfolio? Always thanks. :-)
Its always a good idea to animate or load animation onto a rig that is referenced into the scene. By that you always have a clean rig file. Use a Poselibrary to test poses. Red9 Studio Tools provide the best Poselibrary and animation tools in general, imho, havent checked the new animation workflow in 2017, though
