It really depends on what you're modeling. Generally mechanical stuff (like the robot I posted) is quicker to do with subdiv surfaces. But you might want to mix and match techniques. Definitely learn both subdiv and zbrush if you can.
Yo Turbo889, you are totally right. I'll have the arms fixed for the next post. There aren't feet because I am going with a peg type robot leg, the no feet were throwing me off too. Thanks man!
I've been getting lost in projects! Going to do a couple smaller pieces to get the blood flowing. The first'll be a nature turnstyle, the second a robot I drew. I think it's used in an operating room or shop to hoover up messes.
One texture for both is OK. Some games do this. Environment artists did something similar for Robot Rising, which is similar to what you're doing. http://www.davidhenchey.com/site_gfx/gallery/robot_rising/roborising_flats.html http://ericchadwick.com/img/env_robot_rising.html
Hello vinc, if you have interest, I can offer you to make models of robots, mech, cyborgs by art, and other sci-fi things in the small game about space adventures) Just send me PM for details
This woman is a pre-vis of what would happen if you took a robot that made animated sex doll women from the future and fed it most of the songs from Dillinger Escape Plan - Miss Machine... and then peed on it. I'll take 2.
So finally some update from my side. Made some quick sketches for the shape of the robot : I`ll go for the raptor one . Jumped into max and started blocking in dem Shapes. Let`s see how it develops
I figured the no sci-fi line was mainly just to prevent crazy robots and such. I think my character is perfectly fitting of the 'style' of this competition (being almost identical to indianna jones), but I guess an official ruling needs to be made.
I wonder how much of that insurance is gonna pick up? They should have expected the bill regardless if he died or not, and it would have been more had he lived. Finally, the letter wasn't insulting, it's just how robots are.
he he 15 years. It's cool, she is an illustrator. She doesn't really enjoy 3d as she thinks its really technical and dull but understands my passion for it ben , perhaps he can wire that robot to do the housework.
