Hi I am a max user learning maya. In Max I can explode my UV's to UV-islands based on smoothing groups. How do I do this in maya? I am using maya 2017 where is the function for exploding/separating uv's based on hard/soft edge? Cheers, thanks for the time.
I've noticed that the boolean modifier has been changed since 2016. Is it correct that in order to ie. carve out a cylinder from a box in 2017, we have to select the box now first and then add the cylinder after and select subtract? I realize that i can drag the order around, but it just seem weird compared to 2016.
I see a topic here. http://polycount.com/discussion/193449/riot-creative-contest-2017-kurtozz-pierre Did you have a duplicate topic perhaps? We try to remove dupes when we see them. Your edited post might have been the one removed. Our apologies if so.
You are right! And this is by far the worst UI design I have seen in 2017: I have to change the filetype dropdown to FBX in order to see these "File Type Specific Options". For prosperity, Maya doc on this topic: http://help.autodesk.com/view/MAYALT/2018/ENU/?guid=GUID-0CD41066-4C27-48AE-9776-366DB11B4FDF
Is it possible that the new version has Keyboard Shortcut Override turned off? It's the button in the main toolbar that looks like a box/key with a up arrow on it. https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/3ds-max/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2017/ENU/3DSMax/files/GUID-C14C1D13-0E8E-4471-9671-077FDFB156C8-htm.html
I got an issue with bumpmapping. I've created a greyscale 24bit uncompressed TGA which I want to use as a heightmap and obviously I'm doing something wrong (see below): I get some kind of artifacts and the bumpmap effect is just not there! http://img844.imageshack.us/img844/4097/nua5.jpg
Hello. I was able to post last year October: http://polycount.com/discussion/178945/trouble-with-getvertnormalsfromface-script-with-3ds-max-2017#latest Today however, my latest post received a message saying it will only appear once approved by the Admins. I suspect that my account became unverified.
Walt Disney himself was a republican who hated unions, communists, and jews. Here is some reading about the formation of the animators unions: https://twitter.com/lysandraws/status/1280660242557046784 https://jacobinmag.com/2017/11/disney-animators-strike-union-busting…
Its always a bit risky to explicitly define a path IMO, You can get temp folder location with Mel using this command http://help.autodesk.com/cloudhelp/2017/ENU/Maya-Tech-Docs/Commands/internalVar.html Or use python because its better in every way..…
