I am working on some weapons atm, and it's moving along. But I was wondering how long it takes for people to make a well-detailed mesh. In this example weapons, or something similar, with a lot of detail.
You have to add the weapon bones. Decompile the demoman's grenade launcher and attach the bones it uses accordingly. You don't need to make custom animations either. Most cosmetics/weapons use the default animations.
Here's a shot of all the weapons I worked on this weekend.. These are the game resolution meshes. I'll work on a better breakdown of the weapons later in the week. I made so my characters for "Three" had something to pose with.
do you have like any unused weapon pics? like stuff u made that didn't get in the game or did you get an order for xyz weapons and you only made just those?
He means environments only! Characters and weapons are allocated differently from the env mega texture allocation so they always stay sharper, since a character or a weapon is usually more important than a pipe! :P
i like the concept and love the design as well, the only thing that im unsure is the colour of the weapon, doesn't suit Void :O and in game, u can only see the weapon's back? what about side?
The skin set I will be making is a very over the top pimping of a weapon, gold plating, polished wood, and all. Here are some reference images I found on google: Started Very late, but will finish at least two weapons, the RPG and the Double Barrel.
