Stumped

Ok I got the modeling down, and I got the texturing mostly down. But I have no clue as to attaching a gun model to a character model in Team Fortress 2. I don't know if this is the right place to be asking but I got nothing. Anyway here is where I stand.

Ya I don't know.
please say I don't have to animate these things when I submit them to valve?

PS. If I don't respond to any replies right away. I have a crazy graveyard shift type life right now. So I am asleep while the rest of the world is awake.

You might wanna post this in the TF2 thread on the forums here. I'm pretty sure a lot of people there know what your problems is and how to fix it.

You have to add the weapon bones. Decompile the demoman's grenade launcher and attach the bones it uses accordingly.

You don't need to make custom animations either. Most cosmetics/weapons use the default animations.

I did re post this in the team fortress forum. so far no reply.
As for decompiling the grenade launcher. the problem seems to be that .obj don't hold joint information. so whatever bones/joints you make just vanish after you make said .obj.

By the way I'm using Maya. I have been using SDK item test to turn obj into smd.
