I rotated an object and froze the transformation and now I can't get it aligned with the origin. Is there anyway to do it? Any link to a video tutorial? I know how to snap object to the grid while I translate but not for a rotation. Thank you.
There are some interesting modeling improvements in the latest maya. As you can imagine they arnt perfect. If someone finds an issue with a mesh and smart extrude please post it here. https://help.autodesk.com/view/MAYAUL/2025/ENU/?guid=GUID-21E37C98-B7CA-4B9A-9883-8276FD8AB819
criterion needs to bring back Burnout! enough with NFS :( haven't picked up Forza Horizon, I barely played Forza 3. Played more Dirt & Grid. Their sense of speed and thrill was more enjoyable.
I think all games have units inside, the grid and all.Use those units to figure out, like if the player is 2 units high guess how much will be the door ? or the road for that matter or a car or anything.
Yes, FBX is just everything, multible objs, rigged geometry, animations, etc.. keep in mind that you need to adjust the pivot in max for each object if you want to profit from using them on a grid in udk.
Hey I have a quick question about your screen shot if you don't mind:). I noticed that you have some gray pixels that form a grid on your screen shot and I was wondering what that was.
They subdivide into a quad pole, which is what you would more than likely be using if you didn't use a triangle. Topology should be kept gridded as much as possible, but the difference between using a pole and a triangle is trivial.
I have seen this before, keep returning to it, they have a video of it somewhere, it really is a invaluable resource the video especially about working on and off the grid, really gives you insight into a top notch modular design workflow.
really appreciate the help guys so I finally got a basic thing going but I can't tell how distorted it is because the grid wont appear in the 3d view.. also why are those verts red?
