This video was really helpful for me, and kind of cleared up any misconceptions i had about dynamesh and ZRemesher. Really helps set the workflow out in pre-defined steps https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8t-SV8rU8o&t=2s
This has been a great thread and was surprised how many replies were given considering the number of times the subject comes up but Hazardous has written the best response I've seen to the question to date. Disconnecting this computer from the net now!
Go nuts guys. You guys can do whatever you want with the asset itself including using it in your own game. I'm just doing material studies https://www.dropbox.com/s/w0g89y3j48oow7q/Mailbox2.spp?dl=0
Oh god, that really blows! Really sorry to hear this. I'm seriously looking at getting out of games myself. This past year or so has really been a mess. I thought it was volatile before, but this is nuts. Best of luck to all affected by this.
I did not have time to separate the top texture sheet into its own 1024 map before my deadline but i will be changing it soon The tiara UV island has been symmetry'd now nut the maps have not been edited
I use Maya default with a dab of some custom scripts (TransUV, my own UV slot mover, and XFormUV) found on the net and UVAuto Ratio Pro for sizing. Maya's defaults are pretty good, just buried (like everything else).
You're definitely right, I went a little nuts on the gas cylinder. Gonna get rid of some loops there if time allows for it. Right now we only got about 2 weeks left so we started crunching already.
Great work everyone, good to see people keeping up with the dailies, both on here and elsewhere on the net. "CIA GOT YOU PUSHING TOO MANY PENCILS?" Attempted to depict the most epic handshake in cinematic history for day 29 "United"
A scene with hand painted textures I did a year ago. Creepy victorian house on an island (sorry for the overkill of fog etc, first time i worked with UDK and made a hand painted scene. I really went nuts :s )
I think the logical assumption from the very beginning was that you were referring to a 2k and 4k texture each occupying an equal amount of fully visible screen space. Some people are just going nuts about semantics for no good reason.
