I hope epic will make something like steam workshop. It will be great to make some skins of characters. Meanwhile there is lack of players, it's ok to wait 10-15 mins in lobby screen rightnow. Maybe we should wait release day, when paragon become free to play.
Actually, this is something I've never been sure about. Earlier in my course I pushed floating geometry too far (I would have used 9 polys instead of the 15 you've used on that piece furthest right) and ended up with a nightmare trying to unwrap and texture.
Fun facts: -My first registered name on polycount was 'milk' -I was 15, or 16... and wanted to just troll the forums -Quickly learned that this community is really a bunch of great people wanting to learn, and I wanted to learn along with them -Changed my user name -Smartened up -??????
Hey Bartalon, Congrats on v5 release. I've only spent 15 minutes with the latest version but am not seeing the adjustable width feature. Did this make it into the release build? Sadly I am still having to deal with long material names especially from outsourcers ! Thanks in advance.
thats succckky. try closing UDK, going into your ...UDK-DATE/UDKGAME/Config folder and deleting any *.ini file that begins with UDK. There should be like...12-15 of them.. They'll get autogenerated freshly when you run UDK next. Might help. Might not.
This took me between 15 and 20 minutes to make from scratch - just eyeballing your image. You can't tell me that you seriously cannot optimize that model any better without losing detail. 400 tris, btw. So you've got something to aim for ;)
http://docs.autodesk.com/3DSMAX/15/ENU/3ds-Max-Help/index.html?url=files/GUID-A55E4702-263E-4768-9964-5866698784DA.htm,topicNumber=d30e564037 It's amazing how helpful google can be... It's amazing how many people would rather wait for someone else to do it for them.
3ds Max does auto-save, however, so you shouldn't lose more than a few minutes work. You can change the save interval and number of back-up files under Customize->Preferences->Files. I personally use 15 minutes and 3 files.
does the 2 hours factor in the download time after purchase? what if you buy a 15 GB game and have slow internet and it takes you that long to download? Or is it 2 hours play time? I didn't read anything so I'm clueless, sorry if this is an obvious question!
