Hey Brandv3d! Good start on the scene. Definitely a good use of texture space. Some feedback: This feels like the 3d motive tutorial, Modular Building Worflow by Tyler Wanlass. https://www.3dmotive.com/f101001 It's definitely a great start, however I would try and make the ascetic your own. Make it more unique to the scene…
I knew it was a good idea to involve polycount in this :) that fry-hat is f*cking awesome. That looks like an easy one to try and get into the game real quick. Obviously, as I am only one person who is trying to do the job of about 8 people, including making my own cool stuff - I can't work on getting everyone's stuff into…
Hey bud, good job getting the mesh in Unity. That shows you understand importing and working within scale. However there are a couple things going on that tell me you might be pretty new to 3D art (not meant to be an insult, I just recognize mistakes I've made and hurdles that used to challenge me). I see that you're in…
Thanks for the advice @pior (It's really good advice!), but the problem isn't that I can't do (or haven't already done) the work for what I'm asking -- it's that I want to find a better way than how I've already been doing it -- and for that, yes, I am asking for help. The whole point of this thread was to ask for advice…
Not a grad, but I am currently at Hertfordshire. So far Herts has been really great. Was my top choice and would recommend it. One of the big things that swayed me was the 4-in-1 degree - there are 4 different degrees under the animation department, and in first year you're exposed to all 4. The tutors are very happy to…
Thanks guys! I was so busy for the last 2 months, I didn't even notice my art was added to the Polycount banner showcase :) That's awesome! It's a pity I missed it. @CybranM Thanks! It was the first time I tried to make my custom marble material in Keyshot ^^ Usually when you work on characters for 3D printing, you have to…
Yeah the deal with hard edges tripped me out when I read that thread by EarthQuake, but he explained it really well. I'll have to do a lot of work to fix this model, so in the meantime I went to the bare basics of baking just to see if there is a software problem. Turns out there is an issue when I export the mesh as FBX…
Hey shock, I'm just giving you a heads up now, but it's a good rule of thumb to try to avoid: a. creating two threads on relatively the same topic previous thread here. b. posting just questions in the "Pimping and Previews" topic as it is generally for...well, exactly that. Showing off your work and getting feedback.…
This brings me back to when I started modeling heads. you are doing all the "mistakes" I did when I first made my heads. Make your loops around the mouth go in circular patterns and not to the back of the head like you are doing now. If you do that you'll get nasty shading around the mouth and jaw. Mop has some good head…
>>>> FINAL SUBMISSION <<<< Hello friends !
