Re: How to convert CAD file to game ready models
As far as I know Zbrush can handle .stl files for printing and Houdini has native NURBs support but not sure about CAD tho. -

@beefaroni What export settings are you using? Saving as STL always results in all edges being hardened. Looks very fuckin good anyways! -

lol forget this,an italian guy told me to put a STL Check on the stack & it work,that modifier "heal" my mesh & now all work properly :) -

Max 2010's Xview has an option for this IIRC. You could also add a STL Check modifier on top with the open edges option turned on. -

STL check... Sometimes I get hidden faces when I am doing alot of cutting..etc ..does exactly what your describing -

For me i just needed to make sure that the mesh passed an STL Check. In other words, intersecting meshes are just fine as long as they are cap and closed. B -

high poly mesh only, and the mesh has to be water tight - run an STL check on your model to find any errors. <whoops missed Scruple's post>
