For me it's always been about happiness with the job. True to the other guys points, I have gotten nice raises with each switch, but that was not my primary motive. Ever heard of Z-fighting ?? If two faces with the same normal overlap.. even when using the same color.. So you better ("simply") follow (or respect) the grid.
