Hi, At the moment I am working on a cloth shader. And the filtering of Normal DetailMap has a great effect on the look of the effect. Any type of filtering will drasticly average the small details in my normal map, making the surface appear to smooth. No Filtering will cause extremely noisy surfaces, and if you get very…
Is there some sort of chart that compares these values for different materials? Like an index of refraction chart? I am having a hard time figuring out what values I should be using for different materials, and the sdk docs dont help. I know that fresnel affects the reflection amount from different viewing angles, does…
just saw the brothers in arms trailer and it looks brilliant. the i kinda got the impression the scene with the death of the soldier was a matinee (but not prerendered like killzone) but either way the grafics look really overwhelming. especially all the little debris and dirt flying around after the explosion or the clean…
To save time in World Machine I decided to make a snow macro. It works fairly well (even though there are some features missing right now such as mask input and more advanced height masking) and is very fast so I decided to share it with anyone who wants to give it a shot. Download v0.1 To install, place the .dev file in…
Hello all Recently I got contacted by Positive Grid to model their latest amplifier model the BIAS HEAD. They wanted a 3d model that they could display on their website and have the option to add descriptions to the buttons, inputs and outputs of the amp. So I decided that sketchfab would be an easy solution to display the…
It's called depth biased alpha, there should be a node for it. Basically run your opacity maps/instructions through it's alpha input and give it a bias for how thick the intersection should be.
If I am actually saying, "what about the men", how does that automatically mean that A:My intent was solely to "Derail" And that B:I automatically believe and am therefore stating that prejudice against men is exactly equal to and thus cancels out prejudice against women? In this thread alone, it would seem the only people…
so from my understanding. physically (unbiased) rendering engines generally are a bit easier to operate ? since its rendering is based off of calculated light pathing - though it gives the user less control compared to the biased engines... and in general, takes longer to render a product. while the biased engines allows…
Nice job on the simplified normal bakes! I'm not 100% sure if you actually need to bake for this: explicitely setting vertex normals could work too if the polygon density is high enough The lighting bias map that chev describes (sounds like a good name to me; it's a bias that forces lighting to always go darker or lighter)…
