ZB was mad at me for no reason so it took a little longer than I thought to do the whole retopology/project all thing, but here it is :) And so the battle of the texturing begins....in fact that's my favorite part....so.....not really a battle....more like a fun time :D
Yeah man. Get better and then finish these up. Working while being sick sucks. Love your link. It's so fun and has so much great details. My only design crit is give him little feel. The stumps are freakin me out o_O
Thank you very much! I updated the information a little. I really wish I knew the name of the artist who designed it hehe. the axe was extremely fun to work on I know I cried a little during the re-topology phase though... but topugun is amazing.
I feel the same way, which is why I answered with something ridiculous. It's not terribly productive pondering the "what ifs" though it can be fun. Honestly I think the serious answers are just too obvious anyway. Pay off loans, buy a place, etc etc.
Final Piece: It was my first time participating in an art contest (And I'm sure it won't be the last time). As an unexperienced "rookie" it wasn't only really fun for me, I learned a lot as well. Good luck to all the other participants - You did really beautiful art!
So, what's in the game ? or going to be in the game ? I grew up with Wing Commander IV. While the flying missions was fun, I also like the stuff I can do in Privateer 2. I could hunt bounty, hire escort, do some trading, and stuff.
for low poly projection painting most people use either bodypaint, or 3Dcoat. I like the interface and controlls of 3dcoat but i like how bodypaint works pretty much exactly like photoshop. give em a try, it can be so fun to paint directly on the model.
Ohh maybe that's the reason. That's fine then dude, the good thing is you're making things and trying out the software etc. I would for sure try your hand at both sculpting tiling materials and then designer for sure. the substance apps are fun for sure :D Keep going dude
Loving those textures but the tombstone texture looks a bit gummy. Also, it might be fun to play with more of a design on it as well instead of a oversized RIP on it. Looking good tho. You might want to also change the background, or ambient lighting to make that lantern pop a bit more.
Fun idea! Although if it wasn't for the Disney version at the corner I'm not sure if I would recognize the characters. Their missing some of their main visual ques like long hats and white beards. Look for the things that really makes the original characters recognizable and bring that essence to the new renders.
