Without a normal map to define parts of it, you're gonna run into the same statements, that because you don't have poly to support it, it is going to look unbelievable at certain angles. I think the biggest offender imo is the "spider legs" that cross geometry. As far as the texture goes I'm jealous of your painting...…
It doesnt look like you have a sepc map right now. You could really use one to help define things like the fur better on the model. Also I would strongly suggest you post a reference pic of the mole this is based off of... I thought it was a walking hairy anus for a second.
Our sci-fi isn't "Doomed", as much as it's "Aliened" The Aliens franchise was a defining visual landmark in my opinion. Both the hard human tech and the organic aliens have left a permanent imprint on sci-fi to the point that 30 years later you can still see the same formula in slightly altered form.

SupRore I agree, they could have put in one human to escort of something. But they did put in cutscenes that vary depending on which exit of the mall you go out of. That was something they definately didn't have to do. Compared to the Saint's Row demo the loading times are long. I hope the full game is a bit quicker.
