Blocked some more stuff in. The throne area, ceiling and the big arches are the next steps. Also added some basic shading and lighting. I dont expect it to be this reflective, but no need to tweak that now. As I realized the render would take way too long for me to stay up and post it, I instead uploaded this WIP render. I…
pic is with skylight off. looking better than the render with it on tbh :) more pics coming soon when i have made diff versions with glass materials / diff materials, and then put all the different 'pokeballs' on a shelf then render :) thoughts? finally starting to get hang of materials and rendering. and you know you are…
so the last update from Mark was featuring renders of the hulk, so i thought i'd finally add to it and get some renders up of our Hulkbuster. These are wip renders consisting of basic lighting in maya and a simple beauty pass render. In comp i go through a process with the .exr passes pushing various parameters to enhance…
Blender can pretty much do anything you would need to as long as you know what to look for. If you include the community developments and plugins then I'd say it could be considered just as strong, if not stronger than the other candidates. To be honest I have the option to use both Maya and Blender, but there are many…
that's some nice tight detail. looks good, its a nice piece to test your displacement workflow on. actually with hires textures they don't do it like that, one big map. and you can have upwards of 400k of texture space on a film creature. that would be one big ass map what you want to do is take a shot at using multiple uv…

Hi! I can't really comment on enviro works, as I have zero experience with them myself, but... overall, it's not really obvious what is the focus of these images. The signs seem dominate everything almost completely, obscuring the street itself. As for Blender: what engine are you using for rendering? From the looks of it…
I make my normal maps using 3D studio max 8's Render to Texture function. So far the normals maps come out good. Any anomalies I fix up in Photoshop. So far everything's been ok. I've been steadily cranking out my work with no problem. Suddenly I ended up with this problem: http://home.comcast.net/~acknar/problem_1.jpg…

yes with maxscript you can for example hide the render window and for example render only sections. I am not 100% if that section or crop rendering works with the RTT mode as well but it would be worth checking out. With that you could bake separate patches of the final bake and stitch them together in photoshop. That way…
