DESCRIPTION
• Help plan, coordinate and execute the development and implementation of realistic lighting and post-FX for in-game environments and characters
• Implement lighting solutions that balance gameplay and aesthetics
• Develop color scripts, lighting concepts, and skybox art
• Adjust texture and materials to match lighting
• Work closely with environment art and design to create immersive, memorable game experiences
• Troubleshoot rendering and lighting technical issues
• Work in a team environment to critique and provide input on lighting and other art-related assets
• Assist in documentation of techniques and best practices regarding content (lighting, texture adjustment and skybox creation, etc.)
• Mentor junior lighting artists to enhance visual development skills

• Examples of lighting and post-FX of in-game environments and characters
• Portfolio showing examples of rendering techniques such as global illumination, HDRI, final gathering, pre-rendering and real-time rendering

EXPERIENCE
• 1-2 years of experience as a senior lighting artist in the game industry
• Primary or significant contributor to lighting and post-FX on a shipped next-gen title
• 1-2 years of experience with Radiant, Hammer, or other game engines
• Extensive experience troubleshooting rendering and lighting technical issues
• Traditional art experience with (digital or traditional) painting or photography is preferred
• Excellent knowledge of color, space, depth, composition and materials
• A strong knowledge of film and photographic lighting techniques
• Small group leadership and mentor/training a plus

• Passion for the lighting field
• Able to stay current with the latest tools, technologies, and techniques and help implement them into the pipeline
• Tremendous passion for games and entertainment
