Short answear is sure you can do this. For example what we tend to do at work is use a stone wall and on the corners add more geo details to make it look like the stones are actually poping out the important thing is to set your normals smooth and flat angle to avoid vertex normals affecting normals of a flat. What do you mean by "reused"? Because it doesn't look like your example is an example of "reuse", but rather, they share the same inspiration, and fit a similar style. Ohw, yea! Have you tried looking at the normal map in marmoset for example? marmoset have the option for 3ds max tangent basis. In theory, you SHOULD get a correct bake without shading errors with the correct tangents, one smoothing group, and one uv shell, but in max, it doesn't really seem to work all that good. Max is… -
