I'm trying to transfer sculpting detail between two models that share the same base mesh by extracting a vector displacement map from Model #1 and then using "Sculpt Using Map" to displace Model #2 to match Model #1. The problem I'm encountering is that the displacement of Model #2 is less than that of Model #1. I played…
Your high-poly and textured stuff looks pretty good to me (although you got the captions for the first two images the wrong way round - high poly is the 2nd shot :) ). I agree that your low-poly meshes look far too detailed considering the size of the props - a trunk/chest like this is going to be a lot shorter than a…
Hey all! I guess I should start by saying that I’m quite the amateur when it comes to 3D. I’ve always wanted to learn how to create characters and mechs, but I’ve always had this block that kinda makes me afraid to make crap, but we all have to start somewhere eh? Anyway, I’ve decided to show some of my stuff, maybe get…
Maybe I need a new pair of spec's or my eyesight is getting shot with age :# otherwise I'm prepared to offer some benefit of doubt, for example their previous completed projects from blockout to UV - baking more or less was two weeks so at face value does appear there's continuity there...
I'm guessing the rectangle has the smaller footprint as I would be calling only one material vs two for the two 512 method. Can anyone confirm/deny this? Thanks!
Hello! I am Jeremy, and I am the Experience World War Two Team, and we are a battlefield two mod that is currently including the North Africa, and the Pacific theaters, and we are in need of ship models of various types. I figured this would be a great place to look, it being a 3d artist website and all. We need ships for…
> This morning, I went to my website by using Google to search for "Creamy's Wonderland". I used to get only two hits from a search like this, both from my site. But this time, I got a third result, and when I clicked it just out of curiousity, it was another site that just happened to be called Creamy's Wonderland(…
I am trying to merge two Maya scenes in-place. Where I import scene A into scene B and it will move items from scene A into the correct hierarchy position in scene B. Other than name-space shenanigans, what is the best way to go about this in Python? Or is there a script already that does this?
you can scale the UVs going into a maya texture node and indeed that data will not be passed through when the model is exported. in principle, if you apply the same transform to UVs plugged into a texture sampler in unreal it should give you the same result - if there's a difference it could be a few things - the texture…
