Not really a tech artist, but I wanted to make a simple blueprint to place and tile columns automatically for me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ICQI9jKaVI4
This is simple but it has been months since I have had the chance to do any kind of tech art work: Finished timing belt in a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NM2kWu6x8-c
@Eric: I just came across tech-artists.org yesterday evening while looking for reviews on that book. Great site! I'm definitely going to start lurking there. @Haiddasalami: Thanks, can't wait to start reading it!
Yeah, I told the tech artist at work to tell AutoDesk to fix that stuff. That, and it doesn't like to rotate stuff properly and stitch it. It will have the face flipped the wrong way, so I have to flip it first.
Hey there, I finished playing INSIDE from Playdead (it's just a masterpiece) and I looked at all the whitepapers, there are so much awesome stuff. I am currently working on integrating all the lighting tech into Unity.
Monster for something like that you're just referencing the model at those certain frame positions right? Maybe additional functionality for seeing curve? Think I saw that in one of the Maya videos on some tech artist reel.
Since I can't really do anything worthwhile while waiting for my carpal tunnel syndrom surgery, I'm training in maxscript. Here's my first automated 'high tech hole" script. Maxscript is kinda fun actually :)
my problem is, I cannot post images from work - IT is pretty strict about that absolutely nothing gets out. But side projects I work on at home should be ok... :/ I can talk about the underlying tech though, if anyone is curious.
yeah highlight organs/tumors... I do the tech. Others in the workgroup do studies on what effects are actually better for spatial perception, another person had things like animated camera paths in his PhD research. So in this case it's not part of a "end-user" application, but mostly for getting feedback fron surgeons and…
I'm determined to find a way to make Active/Optical Camouflage as an opaque material setup - so something that would function on the horizon, doesn't quite hold up close-range. Got something like high-tech frosted glass so far :P
