Working on some office prop stuff Gonna have to read some lighting tutorial because mine never seem to "pop out." Like that blue castle, ^ that looks awesome when it's lighted properly.
Mostly,i did add some of the highlights on the diffuse layer on to the spec to strengthen detail i want to pop out as for the brightness i dont really like to go too high on spec when it comes to materials that are not normally shiny like concrete and brick. although i might add more spec detail to the edges of the bricks…
Nice shot jordan, i had to check to make sure it wasn't a gif before i sat and checked it out it was so creepy. Didn't want that thing popping into my face shock.swf style :P
explosion animation lacks pop. First have it draw in on itself a bit, then have it explode outward MUCH faster. Pieces rapidly slow down and fall to the ground. It's very slow-mo-ish now and has no power in it.
@Marshal Banana Looks nice. But it´s hard to see the mouth because of the bright skin color. @Blaizer Holy crap. Decided to pop my next-gen-cherry...was going for a likeness but I probably failed. :( Slightly stylized.
The spec isn't really popping anywhere right now. If it's clean stainless steel, why not put specular through the roof? Beyond that, pretty cool, I always like to see normal things. Bread and knife, don't forget the crumbs.
yea jason your current site is pretty good, Im not a huge fan of the teal, its really bright and eye searing. im always partial to dark greys/gradients etc just makes the art pop so much more. nice content on there dude.
First current gen anything non-environment. Needed to do something from start to finish in one sitting, so i decided a bread knife would be alright. The spec on the serations isnt quite popping rite now, gonna work it a bit more before i go to bread.
thanks for the feeback baddcog, good to know i'm on the rite track The recipe book will pop up just like you described, the other locations (stove, fridge) when clicked will just rotate the camera to the left or right to reveal the rest of the work area, pretty much a shallow "u" shaped counter top
FAT_CAP ooks ace. jsut wondered whether to make the underbelly a bit lighter, kind of an ochery white for more contrast. the light bits seems to have a warm almost pink tinge to them at the moment. perhaps a cooler color would make it pop a bit more might be wrong though, still looks cool
