I'm a hobbyist who takes waaaay too much time between models and can't get myself to finish anything besides cute girls. Dunno when I joined Polycount but I think it was motivated by the death of Cold Fusion.
I think I frequented q2pmp and polycount for a while before I realized there was a forum, I remember my first post was something like "holy crap, this is where everyone went" and the reply was "we didn't go anywhere, you just disappeared".
I joined after witnessing the union of Tins and Harl. I was 3DGuy's date and met all the polycounters there and decided I loved each and every one, so I had to join. I post very rarely, as my degree is in graphic design, not animation.

About 3 years ago I stopped posting regularly on Polycount. There were a lot of different reasons none of which were that I stopped liking the boards. Back then there could be 15 or 20 new threads a day in pimping and previews, and general discussion was probably more active. Now there may be 2 or 3 new threads a day in…
IT was Mr_Rockstar (known as ratpoizon back then) that pointed me to polycount, only about a year and a half ago, only I did post imidiatily becuase I was intimidated by all the kick ass stuff here. But now I love it,the community is small and very proffesional which is cool and its easy to get advise from people of…
