@stevston89 haaa yes of course. It acctually works really well considering its primary purpose was skin, not like the ue4 SSS can is pretty useless at anything but skin (it seems).
Been trying to get better at making rocks lately and here's today's doodle. Still not happy with how featureless they are turning out but I'm starting to get a workflow down at least! UE4: Zbrush:
so bam! tiled rocky pavement with blank texture! UE4 screencap/default skylight with some basic shader setup (testing) however it's not as good as I hoped for, so back to the drawing board!
Here's another one i did today, trying out something with more sharp corners. Rendered in UE4.. textures ended up being quite a mess (basically the same as the previous boulder), but here it is. I know, lots of space for improvement, but feedback always welcome.
Working on some heavy stylized rocks: I used a simple box as a base which I then fractured into chunks with PhysX Destruction and then picked the best locking chunks and arranged them to this rock formation and then sculpted mostly just the details in the Zbrush. This is how it looks in the game in UE4, still not sure how…
Hey guys. I recently tested some rocks I've done in UE4. The idea was to target mobile or low poly platforms. Three unique rocks were created by taking into account each side as having a sort of personality, so to create nice modular structures just by using those three rocks. 1) This is the Zbrush highpoly which I…
Hey guys, I have been making a combination of photogrammetry cliffs and zbrush rubble rocks for a new project :). Thread is here :) This first image is photogrametry taken in Snowdonia Wales and cleaned up with zbrush, baked in substance and Max. The second images are all rocks made in zbrush with photoshop. All shown in…
Made a tiling rock texture to help my actual rock meshes to better blend with my Landscape Sadly even though it's better than before the result is still way too flat, I wonder if it's possible to use the texture's Heightmap to actually displace the terrain (not by using tessellation but by modifing the Landscape heightmap…
Did a new speed environment video and will have it uploaded later tonight. Took about 10 hours to make spread over the course of like 2 weeks. I would say like 90% of the video is me sculpting the rocks in zbrush and texturing them in quixel suite. I'll update this post later when it's uploaded. Uncharted 3 inspired desert…
