I finally figured out how to do select every other face or vert in Maya using mel. I hadn't seen this done in Maya other than Python so I wasn't sure if it was possible, but I eventually found a solution. You can make your own user defined patterns as well, besides just alternating you can do 2/on 2/off, 3/on 3/off, 4/on…
Like the video! you say you need a 4 dimensional vector for this but afaik that's not really necessary. a 3 dimensional vector does the same since you multiply it with a 3 dimensional vector. I'm not sure but I'd even go so far that a 2 Dimensional Vector should work as well if you then hand over the value of the third…

@Klunk edit : cos im dumb... delaunay doesn't work in 3 dimensions right ? do you know of an alternative that does? Specifically for non-solids - imagine a letter e with a bend modifier on it
commander_keen, your Moonforge thing reminds me of a recent Reddit conversation. The curvature and world-loop is a nice touch, but remember that a world loop is actually donut shaped. Which is still cool. After all, nobody noticed this in Sonic 3.
yeah it's something I was thinking about along with the option to keep corners amd or bezier corners fixed (to maintain shape). a simplistic version.... i have a better one though it's tricky to implement also runs about 3-7x faster depending on the knots

Super awesome stuff ravenslayer and prototyp3!! OK I'm now doing this.. next game will be for pc/mac, multiplayer, 3 tribes, infinitive world. Working with the freshly released bolt network engine which is just bowchickawowow and the infinitive-tile-based-world already supports polycount green.
