Thanks for the reply TeeJay! I forgot to mention, I'm also an architect by trade. All the ArchViz scene is rather region specific and basically in the last several years, at least in my part of the world it has become I-will-pay-you-peanuts-and-need-it-done-till-yesterday situation. Not a healthy work environment... but…
No problem. I do use it, though I haven't been using it long. Started with it around the beginning of this year. Its been great for the most part. Best modeling tools I have found so far, the UV editor makes it an insanely quick process and the retopology tools are great. Everything you need for the most part exist in one…
Welp, harsh words right there. Some paint-over lines to give it a better overall shape would've been nice to go along with that (I could probably stop making abominable muscle structures, get overall shape and stick it into a suit to hide the rest and call it a minor success and move on to practice more without a 15th…

I can only answer some of these questions since I don't do character work. I can give you some high level career advice but obviously take that with a grain of salt and pepper. So really when talking about next-gen they're talking about better rendering technology. Definitely read up some Physically Based Rendering, its…
@sacboi so its a bit tricky at times, but in involved using weighted normals modifier in blender. Also you can use face normal strength, so where there is a bevel, get rid of the hard edges and set the bevel face strength to weak, the bigger faces to strong. I will dig out the tutorial on you tube, but its a pretty cool…
Hey! The situation in the 3D industry right now is, mildly speaking, not good. There were a lot of factors but I'm sure you've heard about the layoffs and studio closures. What this means is that it's currently very hard to get a job as a 3D artist. I've seen people looking for jobs for way longer than 6 months, so you're…
Hey everyone! I’m a 3D artist specialized in architectural visualization and I’ve been in the industry for over 5 years. Recently, I’ve been thinking about diving into Python and I’m really curious about how it could help improve my workflow, productivity and income in Archviz. I know Python is widely used in the world,…
