New news from Polycount. I hope to see some of your entries in this challenge http://www.cgtrader.com/challenges-and-competitions/3d-character-challenge. OMG!!! Hipster look!!! haha!!. What! Theres a bunch of those where I live. How much time did you have creating the three concepts of that girl?
Not sure if anyone's mentioned it, but for showing off work, I use Verold if I want to show more than a render. It's a WebGL platform for embedding and sharing your 3D work onto the web. I know there's a way you can embed to here on Polycount, but I haven't figured it out yet. http://www.verold.com
Hey Polycount, I am now free to take on more contracts and can start immediately. I am proficient at all kinds of asset creation along with sculpting models for 3d printing. Please visit my portfolio and drop me an email if you would like to discuss prices etc Thanks, Mike
Recently, I've discovered MeshLabs , a open source application for optimizing 3d scanned models, and it turn to be quite useful. It's able to crunch the polycount of a zbrush models without loosing detail. Export your subtools as obj. and process them one by one, then bring them to max and bake :)…
Heh 1 vote for starting polycount university. *edit I will help. Just clicked on a couple job opening in the 3d world, and there's some game art production houses that do internships with some colleges in their local area, so it may come down to where do you want to work and what schools are near by?
There are some serious restrictions however that you should be aware of. You only get 30 brushes and cant import new ones. There is a polycount limit within core. No spotlight/No texture maps apparently. Its a hard sell for many. You might get more out of 3D Coat in that case. Just food for thought.
Made it more bitesize in terms of polycount. From roughly 8000 the entire scene previously to about 800 currently , had to redo the UV's and some of the texture as well which was a pain. Don't know how to transfer them in 3d coat. Texture needs work Personally I like the silhouette Foliage needs work.
Hi everyone! My name is Hanway and I am new to both polycount forum and making 3d art for video games. This is a gun I modeled from my own concepts, using Maya and zBrush. I will eat up any feedbacks you throw at me! Om nom nom nom...
Hey, so I figure its time to start posting on Polycount and not just reading. For a bit of background I am a game design student and build source and unreal maps in my spare time but uni actually got me back into the 3D Max side of things again. Anyway feel free to post any critiques. Thanks Mat
