I agree with MarcoAntonio. If you are aiming a game ready model the polycount should be lower and use more the normal map. Cool, boot time sure is a great thing, that's interesting ! They are probably doing some very clever stuff behind the scenes, like loading things in a different priority order. Used a ATI in my last computer, 4870X2 card. Had lots of crash problems in Maya 2009. Then that computer got stolen and I bought a new one with the exact same components but changed the graphics card to a Nvidia GTX295. No problems at all, so if I were you I would chose a Nvidia. Did you update the directory of the Material Root as well? It may be that you do not have TF2 Selected in the Source SDK Window. Launch Source SDK and make sure that the Engine is Source Engine 2009 and TF2 is set as the current game. Also, does the folder materialsrc exist inside your tf folder? You may also get help from… -
