Here is another file. This one works better, but takes longer to setup. It uses a Reaction controller with the master set as the bottom circle. Reaction controllers are like Set Driven Keys in Maya. Or basically, they monitor other object's position or rotation states and keep a predetermined animation curve based on those…
Hey guys! I know it's been a few weeks but I've been working away converting my model into a low poly version. I've also been unwrapping and baking as well. I'm in the process of learning Substance Painter and I am thrilled at how quickly the program finished all of it's baking. I'm going to be watching some tutorial…
This is really interesting because this is something I'm struggling with right now too. I am learning to be a 3D modeler but don't have the drawing skills to properly plan my ideas. You mentioned a tutorial in your original post and it seems like you were planning on making it a text tutorial using this forum? Do you plan…
yeah i've downloaded a few renders from other artists that had nice stylized faces. this is probably the closest to what i'm aiming for style-wise http://hazardousarts.deviantart.com/art/Final-Quality-Render-of-Esmy-from-Cryamore-376852491 i've also read through haz's miku tutorial recently, it's given me a fair idea of…
http://wiki.polycount.com/CategoryEnvironmentTerrain http://wiki.polycount.com/CategoryEnvironmentModeling?highlight=%28%5CbCategoryEnvironment%5Cb%29 if looking towards large terrain/outdoor things, have a look at "Choco's" tutorials, and have a look at "welcome to celeryland". and once you have that have a look at more…
It looks good for your first model, If you want to dive into how you make it look like something in a AAA game you should start learning sub-d modeling, there are loads of tutorials and resources out there on the subject so I wont bother describing it in any detail. I think you will learn it pretty fast if you watch some…
@musashidan @Benjammin Okay, thank you very much for your answers ! I didn't know using a mouse was a problem >< I have a ten years old bamboo wacom graphic tablet, i hope it will be good enough for me to do some zbrush on it. For some reasons i can't see the amount of verticles i have. It's not showing on the right corner…
Why did you start on your terrain in Mud/Wb? If you plan on using UDK, then use their Terrain tools. Its much more adopted for the engine and easier to modify, not to mention it automatically creates collision mesh :P Here is a tut: [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYGG2e9CEBE"]Unreal Development Kit Terrain Basics…
It's almost like as an example I amped up the end result so it would be noticeable. Plus this isn't a "critique poop's texture" thread, it's asking about normal maps and how to deepen them (or just not destroy existing volume). Using a 2 layer normal combination method is what my tutorial shows, and it's up to the user to…
Painting in Blender is a bit of a mixed bag - it's projection and cloning is pretty good. However, it doesn't have image layers (like Photoshop), can't flood fill, things like that. Most of that is being worked on (GSoC starts up here shortly and a guy has several little things he plans on fixing). Here are some texture…
