@kodde, that's cool! Seams to be very useful for animation but a bit of a hassle for this.. The paint geometry tool looks really cool! I think that might be the solution!
I had started a thread called Cool Man but I can't find it anywhere... Here it goes again. This is a new project I started after seeing this image. That guy is the definition of "cool"! I'm still not sure if I want to reproduce the same thing or add my own touch to it.
Idk... pretty soon there's going to be so many gimmicky photoshop filters and tools we're going to start losing updates on things that actually matter. I think all of this stuff is "cool" and does have small application in certain situations but it's already doable in 3-4 other ways in tools we already have. Photoshop has…
I do use Sculptris for dirtmodelling, but there are shapes that just don't look right when sculpted - for these I need a good subdiv tool that doesn't cause pinching and folding everywhere, and is fast to work with. I had Silo crash on me once already, but that was entirely my fault (I hit subdiv too many times and ran out…
My sincere advice would be not to use liquid cooling. My last rig was liquid cooled and at the time the reduction in temperature was around 10-15 deg. but now with the advances in air cooling, its just not worth the extra headache or cost. If a pump breaks, you have to pay out through the nose and you have to order parts…

>If nothing else, start making your own titles? even if some Fairy Cousin would pay all the bills while I'm making my title, the fruit is not worth it. They wouldn't behave that way if that was viable. Mic's next step is to buy Steam so that they could just clear the shelf of the competition. Sure, you can sell your stuff…
Creating the environment for Outland 17 has been a fun experience. Though the production of the game has made life quite busy, I have enjoyed every second of it. Working into the wee hours and burning the midnight oil is what every environment artist anticipates. The hard work that everyone on Grenade Tree Games has put in…
I tried to build my low rez mesh in XSI by building poly by poly around my med rez mesh. But man xsi a bit wonky with that. I think I'll use zbrush's retopo tools. They look like they work well . Sticking to the surface of the hi rez mesh and all... Cyrid. what do you use for retopo? Softimage? 3d Coat looks cool. But…
